UPDATE: Wreck shuts down I-40

A three-vehicle wreck has traffic stalled in the eastbound lane of Interstate 40 near Mt. Juliet, according to police.

The wreck happened at 8:40 p.m. at mile marker 226. Police report two vehicles have rolled, and injuries are reported.

Tennessee Department of Transportation officials said the eastbound lane is completely closed, and westbound traffic is affected with rubbernecking delays.

At 9:40 p.m., police said the eastbound lane was opened for traffic.
